Who Is Your Lord?
My Dearest Godivas,
I pray that you all have a fantastic Memorial Day weekend!
A Piece Of Chocolate!
Has your mind ever been so consumed by something that, that was the only thing you could think about? You thought about it while driving your car, while at work, when trying to fall asleep…you get the idea. The Bible supports the fact that people will have problems, like in James 1:2 “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity to grow” It also supports the fact that blessings will also come like in Psalm 84:11 “For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right”. No one is ever singled out when it comes to bad or good things happening in their life. The difference is how a person responds to those changes. What does it mean when someone says “who is the lord of your life”? And, how can you answer that question for yourself? Here’s the test that I use…if I can’t get a certain something out of my head day or night and it impacts the way I make decisions, and it impacts the priority of how my day is ordered, then THAT is the Lord of my life. If I place that kind of power into God’s hands then He will impact the way I make decisions and He will help me to determine what priorities need to be made for my day. It’s that simple. Likewise, if I allow the wrong thing to take priority in my life and allow it to manipulate the course of my day instead of the Lord, my life will be a royal mess! Even if the wrong thing is something that most people consider to be great like a pay raise or having a baby. Displacing the Lord can have dire consequences. Here is the story of a guy who did not displace the King. His name is Daniel and this story is found in Daniel 6:1-28. Now Daniel was a brilliant administrator. The Bible says that “Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire”. The other administrators got jealous and tried to find fault in the way that he handled government business but they couldn’t find anything. So, these guys decided to set up King Darius and lead him to make a decree that anyone in the next 30 days who prays to anyone, divine or human, (except to King Darius), would be thrown into a den of lions. Daniel had heard the law and still knelt down and prayed to our Father. Gosh, sure sounds like he had wisdom in the priorities of his life! Anyway, he got caught and as sad as King Darius was, he couldn’t revoke his own law. Daniel spent the night in the den with the lions and God shut the mouths keeping him safe. Placing God on the throne of your life…keeping him Lord, will guide you through different paths of your life that God already knows how to navigate through. If he’s not the Lord of your life today, rededicate your life to him now. He loves you and desires to be in union with you.
Here is the scripture to meditate on: Daniel 6:10-11: “But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with the windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.”

How about "Even IF" in Daniel (*even if* He doesn't respond {the way I would like}, I will still worship him)when being ready to be thrown into the fiery furnace...
He delivers us *through* the fires, or *from* them (or sometimes even *by* them); His call, our faith. Been thinking about you, sweet friend. First Peter might speak to you ~ Love, Christie
