Git Out The Way!
Some time ago I watched a movie written by Tyler Perry with a hysterical character named Madea. Now in this movie she had just gotten sentenced by the judge to be a foster mother. So she is in the passenger seat with her nephew driving home from court and this new foster kid is sitting in the back seat popping her gum. Now Madea told this little girl that she had better stop poppin’ that gum. That child didn’t stop. Madea warned her again and again. The girl just wouldn’t quit!! So, in her truest form she comically ripped off her seatbelt and threw her entire upper body over that seat (which was probably around 150 lbs or so) and beat the living tar out of that girl.
Well, you and I both know what happened next. That little girl sat so still and frightened in her seat that she wouldn’t even blink!
Now, in life, we all have problems. Some really minor and some flat out doozies. But many times we try to fix the effects of the problem rather than treat the problem itself. Hello? Am I alone in this? I don’t think so. See The enemy loves to either sneak into a situation or try to rip the carpet clean from under our feet. NO! We can not allow him to get any kind of foothold! Here’s what I can imagine. I am Madea sitting in that passenger seat and some-bod-day let that enemy into my car tryin to steal my joy and attack my character. And I’d say “Who in their right mind let you inda my car?! Git out the way.” The great deceiver would just keep sittin in his chair doin’ his thing. I’d turn around again avoiding his false accusations and give him one last chance to shut his fat, gossiping, and lying, mouth. But still he would come at me. Now you done made Dede-madea mad. I would rip off my seatbelt throw my upper body over that seat and as I open up a can of Whoopdedoo on him I would say, “NOW- I- TOLD- U- 2- GET- OUT- THE- WAY!” Beating him between each word. I would quote scripture and in the authority given to me by the Lord I would tell him that he has no place in the car of my mind. And then I’d throw him out on his shim dingle.
Girls, now is NOT the time to take a look in the back seat of your mind-see the enemy and say, “oh, it’s you again. Well, I guess you’ll leave when your good and ready.” No, No, NO! Get angry! Shout at him! Tell him that YOU are more than a conqueror through Christ who gives you strength! Tell him that you know the end of his story and he looses! Christ is the victor! “Now git out the way and I mean right now so I can receive my blessin’.” Women, it is time to put the enemy in his place. And his place is never in a blood bought- child of the King! So, don’t allow him to even peak in the windows of your heart to see what he can stir up. Put on your full armor of God, read the Bible which is the sword of the Spirit. Spend quality time with Him! I am reminded of this song, (that’s also part of a scripture verse), it goes
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full into His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow
Strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace.
It’s really true! He did that for me just earlier this evening at school! If he does it for me, SURELY he wants to do it for you. Walk in your Christ-identity and you will be victorious! Amen!
Love you all,
Dede
