Old Skool Worship
Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!! The Lord is doing GREAT THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to start this piece of chocolate by giving praise to the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Girls, join in this prayer of praise with me and if you are able, SHOUT it out loud for the victory that you have been waiting for is on its way!!!! Jesus, you are the Light Of The World. King of Kings, the earth is your footstool-you can not be moved. You hold the keys of deliverance in your hand. Holy is the Lord of Hosts yes, holy is the Lord. The whole earth is full of your glory! “I don’t believe in a broke down, nervous God”. I believe that He can do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to the power at work within us. You are still a miracle working God. In your presence there is fullness of joy. You are holy and righteous and your loving kindness is better than life!! My life is meaningless without You in it. Oh Lord of Lords I marvel at your excellence. Great are your deeds! Great and mighty is He! Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I just had a flashback to an old, old, very old song that I was brought up on in church when I was a little girl. My sister Chris isn’t going to believe that I even remember this old tune. It goes like this:
Thy loving kindness is better than life
Thy loving kindness is better than life
My lips shall praise Thee
Thus will I bless Thee
I will lift up my hands unto thy name.
Back in the day of beehive hairdos and large flower printed dresses in brown, (mid to late ’70’s), my mom would pull out her autoharp, and my sisters and I would sit in the living room of our cozy trailer singin’ that song over and over. And sometimes I would pretend to be the Big Preacher Man with my comb-over hair piece, arms stretched outwards saying “Gllllllllloray to Godddda” I would even shake my head hard enough to where my cheeks would tremble. Ya’ll should know that I was raised in a Pentecostal church with evening services lasting for 3 hours. That might have something to do with my charismatic demeanor. What is with all these personal flashbacks? Do any of you remember this song?:
I keep falling in love with Him
Over and over and over and over again
I keep falling in love with Him
Over and over and over and over again
He gets sweeter and sweeter as the days go by
Oh what I love between my Lord and I
I keep falling in love with Him
Over and over and over and over again
Here’s the point. We should never compare old school worship with current day worship. God just wants our worship. He wants it to be genuine and true. He doesn’t care about the form that it comes in. He just wants it! Whether your worship to God is caring for the sick or singin’ a song- do it with your whole heart. Don’t hesitate to worship Him because He is worthy to be praised. Amen!!
Love you all,
Dede
