Repeat Business

Dear Chocoholics, A Piece of Chocolate week 14 Repeat Business December 12, 2007 How have you been this week? Are you ready for the weekend? I need a vacation! My little Pumpkin is fast approaching two and he already believes that he’s invincible. I bought him a really cute pair of boots and when he wears them, he acts as if he can leap a tall building in a single bound. Sound familiar? See, our dogs, and for right reasons, are afraid of our almost two year old. They hide under anything that they can find to escape his torture. He loves to provoke them. One of his favorite things to do is to kick his booted foot at the dogs. Now Cupid is pretty tolerant but Vixen has no patience for that kind of hassle and as a result she snaps at his feet with her razor sharp teeth. Unfortunately, Pumpkin decided to punch Vixen fist and all right in her face, and much to his surprise, and I must say to her great satisfaction, she bit him. After all the drama had died down, the little turkey did it again! Will he ever learn? As I look at myself introspectively I wonder; Are there things that I’m involved in repeatedly that get me into trouble? An addiction? A poor mindset? An unhealthy relationship? Something that I keep falling for repeatedly? Ladies, the enemy would like nothing more than to see you and me fail…at anything, at any cost. He wants us as repeat business. As long as he has us tied up in a bad habit, he’s the victor over us all! For many wonderful women, and for myself, I know that problems of repeat business with the enemy, are innocent. But regardless of guilt or innocence, sin is still sin. Don’t despair, I have good news! Here are some guaranteed methods that will keep you from becoming a repeat offender! Let’s go to Ephesians 6:10-11 and 13-18: “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all the strategies of the devil. …Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in time of evil, (or in time of trouble). Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth, and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere”. Ok, it may sound like a lot of stuff to remember but after a while of good practicing, it will become part of your very nature. Much like remembering all the steps of your skin care regiment or recalling how to get dressed every morning. Who new that to avoid those pesky darts all one has to do is get red-carpet ready…from head to toe. Here are your verses of meditation! Ephesians 6:13-17 Have a fantastic week! In Him, Dede
